FirstService is seeking candidates for an Events Manager position at a large scale property owners association in the Dumfries area where the community consists of approximately 4,000 homes and hosts numerous community events.
Plan, execute, and finalize community events according to strict deadlines and within budget as assigned by General Manager.
The Events Manager shall be responsible for event related contracting activities including the solicitation, negotiation and award, as well as contract administration.
Develop, manage and coordinate logistics for Community Events, including orders for all supplies and equipment, volunteer recruitment and scheduling, staff scheduling, legal obligations (permits, inspections, etc.),
Create Time-tracks for each event
Board tasks as assigned; assist with creation of board packages, write motions for various board members concerning either events or communications;
Attend monthly Community Events Committee meetings;
Attend Board of Directors meetings as needed;
Write promotional articles
Create day-of event brochures; create event signage and ticket information
Assist in creating event advertisements for The Montclairion;
Create registration forms as necessary
Execute planning: themes, activities, food, etc.;
Attend all community events
Manage and direct seasonal recreation attendants including their hiring, training, discipline and discharge
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in working in the Community Association Management industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other standard programs used in an office environment
Prior experience in planning and executing large events
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong organizational Skills
