What You'll Be Doing

The Events Coordinator in our Development & Communications department will be responsible for assisting the agency with the success of all agency events.

Your Main Priorities

  • Supports event planning for major events in the agency (i.e., Townsend Luncheon, Taste of Newport, Child & Family Connections Receptions, the Annual Meeting etc.).

  • Oversee the volunteer management process and volunteers for agency fundraising efforts such as the Holiday Giving Drive and in-kind giving.

  • Takes minutes during committee meetings (i.e., special events committees).

  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Requirements, Skills & Abilities:

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

  • Experience with event coordination required.

  • Experience working in a human services or nonprofit setting preferred.

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.

  • Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.

  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.

  • Collaboration and teamwork.

  • The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.

Physical Requirements

Operational Staff:

This position involves work in an office setting. Tasks include operating a computer for extended periods, communicating with colleagues, and occasional lifting of office/department materials up to 25lbs. The role also requires the ability to sit for extended periods, bending, reaching, hearing and vision.

Travel Requirements

Site location: Middletown

Statewide travel required.
