What you need to know

This is a temporary, Part-time position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • No experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Strong work ethic

Other Requirements or Other Factors:

  • Ability to stand, move, and/or work for extended period of time or entire shift

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and/or push moderate weight objects

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

  • Event Set Up
  • Takes apart and builds stages, basketball, and volleyball courts
  • Sets up and strike chairs, tables, and riser seating. Performs other duties as assigned.

This includes lifting tables and chairs, bending and reaching above shoulders, loading/unloading and stacking tables and chairs and pushing carts of tables and chairs. This work takes place indoors and outdoors. * Supervises student workers as needed throughout the work day. This will require operation of a University or other motor vehicle. * Provide excellent customer service to our clients, guests, and tenants who occupy the facilities that make up the University Center Complex. Be present 15 minutes prior to the start of events to unlock the rooms and check with the client on the proper setup of the space. Try to answer or find the answer to any questions the client might have. * Responsible for inspection of buildings, fixtures and equipment. Responsible for reporting deficiencies. * Washes windows, puts out signs, occasionally loads and unloads trucks, and cleans out storage facilities. Other duties as assigned.
