JOB SUMMARY

Provide support for various Sanford Sports Complex events, games, tournaments and other related activities. Monitor and control activities in the court and/or field turf area.

Set up courts and/or fields for activities. Assist with cleaning up areas after activities conclude. Provide ushering duties for Heritage Court events.

Patrol the interior and exterior of the facilities during events. Sell tickets through the Ticketmaster system. Sell items through retail team store.

Work a ticket scanner or take tickets from patrons at ticketed events. Execute bag checks of patrons entering the facility when necessary. Assist patrons with all qubestions or concerns.

Customer service and basic computer skills required. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide information about facilities, entertainment options, and rules and regulations. Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures, or arrange for the removal of unruly patrons.

Keep informed of shut-down and emergency evacuation procedures. Maintain inventories of equipment, storing and retrieving items and assembling and disassembling equipment as necessary. Identifies potential and actual conflicts in own area.

Ensures identification of customer needs and priorities. Verify credentials of patrons desiring entrance into press box and permit only authorized persons to enter. Provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs. Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Schedule will be 5PM to 9PM with some weekends included.

QUALIFICATIONS

CPR must be obtained withine one year of hire Minimum of sixteen years of age, high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

This position is responsible for carrying out athletic development for populations of any age and assuring that these services are provided effectively and efficiently according to the goals and objectives of the health system and according to professional practice standards of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) with an emphasis placed upon quality health care and a safe environment. Additonally, the Manager is responsible for the coaches and coaching being conducted under their purview. This position plays a role in providing education to area coaches and athletes. Requires both physical and mental competency skills. Requires demonstrating skills for, observing, testing and managing athletes. Involves directing athletes to perform movements involving strength, power, and agility that may include plyometric and strength lifting techniques utilizing free weights and a some machines. Requires public speaking abilities that include the media, local school systems, the general public, etc. This position provides daily and ongoing leadership for POWER, including planning, budgeting, marketing, integration and development of programming. This position requires integration with leaders of the entire Sports Medicine continuum of care, including physicians, sports therapists, athletic trainers, and the SSSI. It also works closely with the SSSI on the Sanford SCORE and other research. Required to understand all policies and procedures as well as testing protocols for the POWER Program. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Designs strategies to inspire peers to raise the bar of customer service delivery. Articulates and discusses industry-specific issues and challenges within own organization. Champions importance of rigor in budget managing, reporting, and explaining. Analyzes and discusses alternatives with multiple stakeholders. Sets clear expectations of self and team. Cultivates effective cross-boundary relationships focused on shared strategic interests. Designs effective partnership programs and strategies that significantly increase the organization's capabilities. Serves as a leader in organization-wide initiatives that require cross-functional teams. Develops and coordinates recruiting and staffing plans in line with corporate policies. Enables individuals and managers to take initiative and responsibility and make decisions. Builds best practices and industry standards for exercise prescription and programming. Directs safety communications, emergency evacuation procedures, tests and drills. DEPARTMENT DETAILS QUALIFICATIONS CSCS certification is required at date of hire. Additional certification in at least one of the following areas is preferred; CSCCa , USA Weightlifting, and or ACSM. CPR certification required within six weeks of employment and certification required to be maintained. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field of exercise science, kinesiology, health, physical education, recreation or other closely related discipline is required. Master's degree in one of the identified bachelor's degree areas is strongly preferred. Five years experience required, seven years preferred. Possesses a thorough understanding of the physiological basis of exercise and the ability to program/instruct according to the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) guidelines. The incumbent must possess an understanding of management, marketing principles, and leadership techniques. It is strongly preferred that the incumbent have management or supervisory experience.
