Job Summary

What will you be doing as an Event Set-up Associate?

Prepare meeting and banquet facilities for scheduled events. Respond to requests for extra furnishings such as tables, chairs, lecterns, whiteboards, etc. Maintain meeting and banquet facilities to meet departmental standards. Work in collaboration with the Events Office staff, Catering staff and customer to ensure setups are to customer specification.

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Work standards and productivity, communication, interpersonal and intercultural relations, decision making and dependability.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from different viewpoints and backgrounds utilizing HFS ACTS and teamwork in daily work activity.

  • Technical competencies in basic mathematics, ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, attention to detail, and stand, walk, reach and stoop extensively.

Preferred:

  • A valid US/Canadian driver's license.

  • Days and hours for this position are, Friday
  • Tuesday, 8:00am

  • 4:30pm.

Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching, research, discovery, and service to the hospitality and tourism industries. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to engage in scholarly endeavors that include grant writing, advising students, participating on various committees and pursuing external funding. Qualifications Applicants must have meaningful management experience in the hospitality or tourism industries related to Event and Meeting Management. A PhD in hospitality and tourism management or related area is required.
