Description

The Event Setup and Maintenance Tech II is responsible for physically setting up and tearing down of scheduled events and functions for the university. This position will also be given project tasks where they work with various staff members across campus to complete given scheduled tasks. Great communication and completion of assignments in a timely manner are required. Reports to Maintenance Tech I and Project Supervisor. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. This job will require physical effort and mental effort with good planning/communication.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• It is the responsibility of this position to set up and tear down all events per specified work orders.

• This position is required to perform frequent lifting and moving of furniture, tables, and other materials.

• Position will require the use of Rockhurst trucks to pick up and distribute supplies from around Kansas City to various parts of campus.

• This position will work closely with the residents, faculty, and staff. It is important to be a positive and professional face for the community and to be able to communicate in a team environment.

• This position will be part of the facilities team and will work on completion of both event and maintenance work orders in a timely way.

• The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, hard-working, energetic and customer service oriented.

• Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, team environment and be able to perform maintenance tasks independently.

Duties Include, but Not Limited to:

• The ability to lift 50 pounds regular basis as needed

• Knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry and repairs

• On-call rotation required for emergencies, lock outs and snow removal (seasonal)

• Communicate and support other maintenance and ground staff as needed

• Complying with all company policies and procedures

• Complying with all safety rules and policies

• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Missouri Class E license or equivalent is required
