As part of the Global Events team, the Event Marketing Manager will work within Global Marketing to develop and manage full-scale in-person and virtual strategic client-facing and tradeshow events within the digital technology portfolio in order to increase Cognizant's brand awareness and meet business goals. The position also involves collaborating with Field Marketing to create and execute high quality, response-driven marketing campaigns that integrate online and offline marketing activities using cost-effective and targeted promotional techniques. The candidate must have the ability to problem solve, develop a rapport with all stakeholders, and have a solid work ethic along with unquestioned integrity. Critical attributes of this position include, but are not limited to, strong organizational, presentation, interpersonal, and communications skills. Being creative, strategic, metrics driven, and having digital marketing expertise are required.
Utilize solid digital marketing expertise and hands-on skills to create and execute innovative digital and technology focused experiential events and programs
Manage all aspects of event marketing including sponsorship sales, brand presence, budget maintenance, vendor services, speaker logistics, lead generation activities, content and collateral development, distribution strategies, and air travel and hotel accommodations
Serve as the project manager for all groups involved in the event planning process - marketing, creative, communications, social media, etc. and provide guidance around internal/external Global Events SOPs, Cognizant's compliance policies, and leadership's expectations
Partner with Field Marketing and stakeholders to develop copy for materials such as client invitations, brochures, signage, digital ads, email communications, etc.
Manage all Cvent-related services such as registrations sites, creating and sending communications, scheduling client meetings, managing room blocks, setting up mobile apps, and administering feedback surveys
Confidently and professionally present marketing concepts, event updates, budget spend, and advanced post-event recaps, reporting and analytics to management and leadership
Work with the Global Events Technologist to research new innovative concepts and tools to enhance experiences at signature events
Maintain knowledge of digital industry trends and best practices to enhance meeting and event quality; attend educational conferences, as needed
Manage and mentor team members on assigned events and/or projects, as needed
Provide onsite support, both independently and as a team, when needed
Work on Global Events projects, as needed
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Event Management, or Communications preferred
10+ years of experience in event marketing campaign management, digital marketing, digital and technology event planning, and project management with a B2C and B2B background
Well-versed in developing, executing and measuring marketing campaign programs
Extensive experience with CRM and Marketing Automation solutions (Salesforce Pardot)
Experience in creating, leading, and analyzing digital marketing programs (virtual events and other digital programs)
Proven verbal, written, and presentation skills; high-quality writing samples required
Exceptional communication and business etiquette skills by email, phone, video, and in-person.
Organized, self-starter, team player, and able to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, geographically diverse work environment.
Skilled at negotiating commercial terms for event-related contracts and experienced in working with Procurement, Legal, Insurance, and other departments to ensure terms and conditions have minimal risk to company
Experience with Virtual Meeting Platforms (GoToWebinar, ON24, Zoom, Accelevents, Adobe Connect, Cisco WebEx, ClickWebinar, etc.)
Familiar with project management and collaboration tools (Workfront, BOX)
Proficient in Cvent and Microsoft Office Applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint); advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and mail merges is required
Hybrid environment (in-office and virtual)
Travel is required
Early hours, weekends, nights, or holidays required may be required
Light physical effort required when onsite (packing, unpacking, shipping, event/exhibit install/dismantle); lift up to 30lbs
