Legends manages all operations across ticketing, special events, sponsorship food and beverage and retail for Attractions partners.

THE ROLE

The Events and Group Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and managing overall event sales and work with the hospitality and operations teams as well as local vendors for catering, AV and other event specific providers for both special and private events at the venue. The Events & Group Sales Manager guides clients by interpreting their initial described event vision and translating that into a logistics process to produce the overall experience. The Events and Group Sales Manager is also responsible for strategically managing all activities within the sales department while maintaining a specific focus on outreach to various channels including their existing network of contacts, cold calling, and incoming leads; as well as leveraging partner relationships to capitalize on marketing outreach and building the foundation for event sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Research, analyze, and develop special event profit generating opportunities.

  • Manages pre-event planning meetings with client and Event Coordinator to understand the client's event vision and assist with the creation of logistical plans for all related areas to execute day of event (F&B, AV, furniture, lighting, run of shows, staffing, signage, technology, floorplans, and more)

  • Identify and recommend opportunities in which additional Illuminarium services could be provided to the client to enhance and/or compliment their event.

  • Analyze client needs and determine event service and equipment providers when outside of Illuminariums abilities.

  • Communicate with event service providers on budget, setup and usage periods of equipment and/or services as well logistics.

  • Proactively solicit new business by, among other things, making sales calls and presentations, attending local trade shows, and engaging in other client prospecting to increase the size of the Organization's potential client database.

  • Create leads and develop long-term relationships in the event planning, production, and promotion communities, and with other relevant companies, organizations, and groups.

  • Drive the planning and execution of assigned Private and Special Events, and Groups business as well as internal events initiatives (including, but not limited to, corporate, social, internal and marketing/promotional events).

  • Monitor changes and new developments in the special events industry.

  • Work closely and build relationships with the Legends food and beverage, operations and merchandise departments as well as specialty vendors.

  • Manage and direct all Organization-related event logistics, including managing the events calendar, conducting walk-throughs and visits, and being the primary contact for clients.

  • Prepare and provide required reports including special event revenue reports, profit and loss statements, sales recaps, and projections.

  • Obtain feedback from clients following each special event to determine and analyze client satisfaction, Organizational Performance, and event-related risks and liabilities.

  • Learn, understand and utilize sales systems and CRM on a daily basis.

  • Develop overall group sales outreach plan, manage sales process, coordinate invoices, payments, budget tracking.

  • Assist in creation of new group programs and events that increase sales opportunities and overall group tickets/revenue.

  • Must be adept at weekly reporting and sales forecasting based on available data.

  • Collaborate with local businesses, schools, churches, corporations, tour and travel operators.

  • Monitor, manage, and fulfill any daily partner requests.

  • Generate and aggregate necessary reporting for internal team.

  • Respond in a timely manner to calls, inquiries and emails related to the above areas of responsibility and to general information requests as needed.

  • Provide superior customer service to clients and prospects.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Illuminarium Experiences marketing and operations colleagues.

  • Organize key tradeshows, sales missions and additional events in respective markets.

  • Some travel to networking events, industry meetings and sales missions as need

  • Non-traditional hours (Nights, Weekends and Holidays as necessary)

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Three to five years of related experience, preferably in the Tourism industry

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience and/or training

  • Resourceful, innovative, and forward thinking, with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Expertise in financial analysis and planning, budgeting, and marketing

  • Working knowledge of local and regional markets, venue operations, and special events industries

  • Must be comfortable with cold calling, outreach to local groups and markets to generate new business and group sales.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to effectively evaluate risks and liabilities of special events and rentals.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet, database, CRM and word processing programs.

  • Familiarity with TripleSeat and SocialTables platforms is a plus.

  • Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to ensure successful planning through event execution.

  • Excellent customer service and creative problem-solving abilities.

  • Must have computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Able to analyze, interpret and produce financial documents and reports.

  • Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

  • Must have or be able to obtain Nevada TAM card, Southern Nevada Health District food Handlers Card and Clark County Sheriffs card and Serv Safe Manager certification within the first 30 days of employment.
