Essential Job Functions: 1. Provides support in the planning and execution of Special Programming and Recruitment.

2.Maintains a high level of customer service with prospective students and their families, student employees, faculty, and staff.

3.Assists in planning and coordinating operations to ensure continuous improvement of student services that increase event attendance leading to admissions applications and enrollment.

4.Works with supervisor and leadership to determine objectives and requirements for events.

5.Meets with appropriate parties to plan the scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets, or to review administrative procedures and event progress.

6.Acts as liaison between students, faculty, and college and university departments.

7.Plans and develops programs, agendas, schedule of events, budgets, and other programming material.

8.Assists in the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of student employees, graduate assistants, and/or volunteers.

9.Contacts prospective students to present information and/or explain available programs and services.



  1. Inspects event facilities to ensure that they conform to requirements.

  2. Organizes registration of event participants.

  3. Coordinates services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, room reservation, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.

  4. Arranges the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.

  5. Evaluates and selects providers of services according to event requirements.

  6. Confers with staff at a chosen event site to coordinate details.

  7. Monitors event activities to ensure satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise.

  8. Assists in maintaining accurate and complete records of student attendance during Special Recruitment Events Orientation and Shark Preview programs.

  9. Conducts post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved.

  10. Provides feedback and recommendations to management regarding recruiting strategies, customer service, communications, and/or recruitment programs.

  11. Maintains records of event aspects, including financial details.

  12. Reviews event bills for accuracy and approves payment.

  13. Maintains or monitors departmental and/or program websites.

  14. Develops and produces marketing materials promoting student recruitment events.

  15. Generates reports to ensure timely information is available for management use.

  16. Completes special projects as assigned.

  17. Performs other duties as assigned or required.


Marginal Job Functions: 1. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees.

2.Participates in college and university committee activities as assigned.

3.Stays current with trends and best practices for new student recruitment programs and events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:

1.Customer and Personal Service

  • Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.

2.English Language

  • General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Working knowledge of media production, visual, verbal, and interactive communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and persuade via written, oral, and visual media.

4.Administration and Management

  • Working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, budgeting, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and/or coordination of people and resources.

5.Public Safety and Security

  • Working knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

6.Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

4.May be required to work nights or weekends.

5.Travel

7.May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards.

Job Requirements: Required Certifications/Licensures: Valid Driver's License Required Education: Bachelor's degree Major (if required): Required Experience: 1. Up to two (2) years of related experience.

2.Experience organizing logistical aspects of large-scale events.
