Schedule: Full Time | Friday to Tuesday 12pm-8pm

SUMMARY

In the Evening Supervisor position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our community. Acting as the primary liaison for residents and family members when management is not available, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the community during evening hours. Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), you will assist the Management team by acting as support staff and providing oversight to all departments. Your responsibilities may include providing care for and assistance to residents, some of whom may be living with dementia or memory-related issues, as well as those with chemical dependency. You will offer emotional support, engage residents in enriching activities, and monitor their health closely, promptly notifying management of any changes in their condition. Some duties may involve administrative work assigned by the Director of Resident Services (DRS) or Director of Memory Care (DMC).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by your direct manager. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

  • Check that staff are taking assigned rest periods and meal breaks at assigned times.

  • Manage breaks for the front desk for meals and rest periods.

  • Serve as the point person for Resident and Family concerns.

  • Follow the reporting matrix as appropriate.

  • Follow Company policies.

  • Report and document resident and/or staff concerns to appropriate managers.

  • Visit new residents or those returning from hospital/rehab to ensure needs are being met.

  • Check with staff that resident care plans are being completed and the staff complete task sheets and end-of-shift reports.

  • Complete incident reports.

  • Manage 911 calls/pull emergency paperwork for EMTs.

  • Walk the community.

  • Assist staff with escorts when available.

  • Assume job duties as a Care Partner or Medication Technician when needed.

  • Endorse resident concerns to oncoming shift.

  • Manage and report staff shortages to the department manager.

  • Communicate any care changes or changes in condition to the nurse and Director of Resident Services in a timely manner.

  • Inventory and email list of needed supplies to the Director of Resident Services.

  • Report accidents, injuries and/or incidents immediately to the Executive Assistant, Executive Director, and Director of Resident Services, along with all the appropriate documentation.

  • Attend and remain up to date on all company-provided training, and attend periodic staff meetings, in-service training, and mandatory meetings as required.

  • Observe Residents' Rights, as posted within the facility.

  • Mandated reporting - if you suspect any kind of verbal, physical, emotional, financial, or neglectful treatment toward a resident or staff member, report it to your supervisor immediately.

  • In Emergencies, assist residents according to the Emergency Plan of the facility.

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. These duties may be performed on an as-needed basis and are not expected to occur daily.

  • Occasionally assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including, but not limited to continence care, showering, grooming, dressing, escorts, transfer assistance, repositioning, and meal assistance.

  • Accurately distribute medications to residents following physician orders, company policies, and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of high school education or GED or combination of related experience.

  • Experience is preferred, but not necessary.

  • Reasonable expectations of mathematical, technical, and reasoning skills to perform essential job responsibilities.

  • According to Title 22, Section 87411(b) requirements, must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, so as not to jeopardize the safety and well-being of the residents.

  • Ability to communicate with residents, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Remain professional and respectful, and interact with our customers - including residents, family members, and all staff members - according to the concepts identified by the Carlton Way.

  • Must be able to use technology, such as company-provided phones and tablets, to communicate among staff on resident needs.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States of America and provide sufficient work authorization documentation(s).

  • Department of Justice and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed before working in the community (obtained through the community).

  • Health screening/Physical and negative tuberculosis test must be less than six (6) months old (obtained through the community).

  • First Aid/CPR Certification (obtained through the community).
