Position Summary

The Evening Studies Coordinator coordinates the center's Evening Studies (EWS) program to ensure students can participate in at least seven (7) hours of enrichment activities after the training day to accelerate learning and reach academic and technical training goals.

Essential Functions

1.Collaborate with instructors and monitor TABE scores to determine support needed and schedule students appropriately.

2.Review student schedules weekly and adjust for students to participate in EWS in collaboration with the scheduling staff.

3.Develop enrichment activities in collaboration with instructors to connect to training day goals.

4.Maintain documentation supporting EWS participation in the Center Information System (CIS) and academic folders.

5.Coordinate qualified community volunteers to provide tutoring support to students as part of the EWS program.

6.Provide in-person instructional support to students as needed to meet requirements for TABE re-tests and facilitates interactive lessons, and group instruction.

7.Prioritize digital literacy and information technology instruction and certification within the EWS program.

8.Ensure documented accommodations are provided to students in collaboration with the Disability Coordinator.

9.Maintain strict compliance with data integrity standards in administering student tests, recording attainments, and documenting training hours.



  1. Support the Zero Tolerance policy and center Behavior Management Plan to promote a safe environment and cooperate with center leadership to record student incidents in the appropriate systems.

  2. Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and Strategix training.

  3. Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property and adhere to safety practices.

  4. Promote a harassment-free environment.

  5. Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student's personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats.

  6. Adhere to and model Strategix servant leadership culture values: Honor Others, Inspire Vision, Choose Integrity, People First, Balance Focus with Flexibility, Serve with Humility, and Innovate and Disrupt.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions ranging from extreme cold in Winter to an average of 90 degrees in the Summer and Fall months, and occasional poor air quality. The noise level can vary from moderate to loud.

Qualifications

Minimum

Bachelor's degree in education or related field from accredited institution and two years of experience working with disadvantaged youth, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent customer service, group facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. Information technology proficiency including MS Office.

Preferred

State teaching certification and previous Job Corps experience.
