PACCAR Silicon Valley Innovation Center
The PACCAR Innovation Center in Silicon Valley is coordinating next-generation research and identifying emerging technologies that will benefit future vehicle performance. Technology areas of focus include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, machine learning, and augmented reality. The Innovation Center is also accelerating partnerships in the development of electric and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, as well as the deployment of big data analytics.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Evaluate technology proposals from vendors to ensure effectiveness, technical accuracy, or compatibility in the resolution of complex engineering problems and issues.
Critique early stage pilot or proof of concept projects. Discover patterns and insights and drive project development and implementation changes based on findings.
Analyze intelligence, data and information to chart future direction in the areas of ADAS, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Autonomous Sensors, AI, Deep Learning, and Big Data Analytics.
Perform competitive intelligence and technology forecasting by tapping into novel knowledge and research being pursued by startups, academia, and tech firms within Silicon Valley.
Prepare documentation containing information such as confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, product development or introduction schedules, projected costs, or information about new product performance.
Confer with engineers, product planning, business development, and others to discuss improving the current engineering solutions and products.
Attend technical/industry conferences, meetings, events, or consortiums to acquire vital information. Create clear and concise reports (written and verbal) summarizing findings and develop strategy to support the Innovation Center and Division engineering groups.
Frequently interact, network and cooperate with Government, Supplier, Academia, and other organizations in the technology areas above.
Represent the Innovation Center at conferences, meetings, boards, panels, committees, or working groups to present, explain, or defend findings or recommendations, negotiate compromises or agreements, or exchange information.
Collaborate with planning teams across multiple PACCAR divisions and help organize and coordinate the proof-of-concept and early implementation of technical solutions.
The PACCAR Silicon Valley Innovation Center is looking for an ambitious Evaluation Engineer to add to our Autmotive Team in Sunnyvale, California.
Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation or other relevant fields required.
Lateral thinker knowledgeable in science and technology, cross-disciplinary orientated, and with an imaginative personality and foresight.
Phenomenal communicator that can advocate technology solutions to management and engineering teams who make final decisions based on study findings and metrics.
Experienced in building relationships across organizations, communicating technical content and analytical insights to others from various disciplines.
Knowledge of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), Connected and Autonomous mobility, Robotics, AI, Deep Learning, Autonomous Sensor Technology, and Big Data Analytics.
Solid written and oral communication skills for internal and external presentations.
