Pediatric Speech Therapist:

Aveanna Healthcare is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to complete initial evaluations, re-evaluations and provide supervision for one or more Speech Language Pathology Assistants. This position offers immense flexibility, allowing you more control over when and where you are able to provide assistance.

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a minimum of a Master's degree in the field of Speech Therapy from an accredited educational program.

  • Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certification of Clinical Competence in speech pathology or audiology granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.

  • Proficient in Spanish, Reading and Writing

General Statement of Duties: Evaluates patients, sets goals, plans treatment programs and treats patients according to physician's orders; maintains required records and notes on patient care, assumes responsibility for patient charges. Interacts closely with supervising speech pathologist to obtain required hours of onsite observation and monitoring as established by the American Speech Language & Hearing Association provides technical advice to support personnel and supervision of same. Essential Job Functions: * Evaluates patients who have speech/language or swallowing impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes, and synthesizes the data to establish a plan of care with therapeutic interventions and goals appropriate to patient's age and development. * Develops a professional relationship with supervising speech therapist to obtain the established hours of onsite observations and monitoring in accordance with the standards set by the American Speech Language Hearing Association in order to optimize development of clinical skills in the medical based setting. * Documents evaluations, treatments, plan of care, charges, and discharge summaries utilizing professional jargon that supports skilled therapeutic necessity and the charges incurred in a concise and timely manner. * Administers therapeutic interventions in a professional manner in accordance with the Speech Therapy Practice Act for the state of Texas. * Interacts and confers with a variety of professionals including physicians, nurses, case management, PT's and OT's to implement and assess the intervention program. * Provides Director with constructive suggestions to problem solve, assist with maintaining productivity standards and setting a positive atmosphere for professional development. Minimum Education and Experience: Masters in Communications Disorders. Prefer membership in ASHA.
