An EUV Equipment Development Engineer is an integral member of the Technology Development Engineering team at Micron Technology and enables our development of tomorrow's memory and storage technology! We develop groundbreaking semiconductor processing hardware - both internally with process engineering and externally with vendors - to enable novel process technology. Success is derived through partnership with the process development team and effective project management of vendor resources to achieve process technology and efficiency benchmarks. As Equipment Development Engineers we use creative experimental techniques and have access to a full suite of semiconductor analytics lab equipment and on-board plasma diagnostics to solve outstanding technical challenges. This position is located at our Pilot Fab in Boise, ID.
Work with vendors to develop and improve equipment performance not only for F4, but for HVM applications as well
Develop, supervise, and revise PM strategies to ensure the system is performing optimally
Schedule vendor tasks (FCOs, Patches, Consumable replacements, Repairs, etc.)
Develop availability, reliability, and efficiency improvement plans
Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects including, but not limited to, coordination, installation, maintenance, documentation, modification, and over all support of equipment projects
Additional areas of focus:
Tool Matching / Reticle Modification
Imaging Stability and defectivity monitoring
Reticle / Mirror Heating / Wafer Heating analysis / pod contamination
Backside wafer contamination monitoring/investigations
Scanner recipes / Software upgrades and issues
Provide updates to management regarding system issues, metrics and overall performance
Supervise and track the following items:
Baseliner Overlay and Focus Stability
ADAM/E3/SPACE/scripts and macros
Source and laser performance metrics
Work with PAC team for Abatement monitoring and maintenance
Safety Audits (RF surveys, H2 line grounding, etc)
Monitor and Maintain Entegris XCDA and H2 purifiers
Crane Monthly and Annual PM scheduling
Work with facilities engineering and operations on any facilities issues or any new requirements from ASML
Provide and maintain storage of all current and new EUV systems
New Vendor Badging and Safety Tours
Renew badges when needed for existing vendors
ILS-BRES user access maintenance
R&D Area Objectives
Contributes expert subject area knowledge to resolve issues and solve highly complex problems
Contributes to ongoing assigned projects, works with process development engineers on issues and projects, crafts strategic decisions
Summarize plans, progress to existing experimental work, and concluded work in the form of written reports
Contribute to work on equipment in any areas to help meet department goals
Builds on strong customer relationships to understand customer expectations
Self Development and mentoring
Serve as a technical EUV scanner authority within Micron
Support and mentor other Equipment Engineers in the group
Act as a specialist and resource for on shift equipment techs and engineers
Provide training and documentation in areas of scanner expertise for pilot line, and PDE engineering
Recognize and reward Micron team members for outstanding performance
Active engagement with team members in other fabs on equipment issues related to yield, cost, efficiency and performance
Provide documentation related to equipment configuration and setup.
Engage the vendors for information to improve your knowledge of the equipment
Identify and promptly report hazards
Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety
Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer's and company guidelines
Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner
Maintain safety certifications in TRAIN
