An EUV Equipment Development Engineer is an integral member of the Technology Development Engineering team at Micron Technology and enables our development of tomorrow's memory and storage technology! We develop groundbreaking semiconductor processing hardware - both internally with process engineering and externally with vendors - to enable novel process technology. We redefine what is possible within our R&D facilities! Are you ready for your next challenge?

Success is derived through partnership with the process development team and effective project management of vendor resources to achieve process technology and efficiency benchmarks. As Equipment Development Engineers we use creative experimental techniques and have access to a full suite of semiconductor analytics lab equipment and on-board plasma diagnostics to solve outstanding technical challenges. This position is located at our Pilot Fab in Boise, ID.

Equipment Management

  • Work with vendors to develop and improve equipment performance not only for F4, but for HVM applications as well

  • Develop, supervise, and revise PM strategies to ensure the system is performing optimally

  • Schedule vendor tasks (FCOs, Patches, Consumable replacements, Repairs, etc.)

  • Develop availability, reliability, and efficiency improvement plans

  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects including, but not limited to, coordination, installation, maintenance, documentation, modification, and over all support of equipment projects

Additional areas of focus:

  • Tool Matching / Reticle Modification

  • Imaging Stability and defectivity monitoring

  • Reticle / Mirror Heating / Wafer Heating analysis / pod contamination

  • Backside wafer contamination monitoring/investigations

  • Scanner recipes / Software upgrades and issues

Equipment monitoring

  • Provide updates to management regarding system issues, metrics and overall performance

  • Supervise and track the following items:

  • Chuck flatness

  • Baseliner Overlay and Focus Stability

  • ADAM/E3/SPACE/scripts and macros

  • Source and laser performance metrics

Facilities

  • Work with PAC team for Abatement monitoring and maintenance

  • Safety Audits (RF surveys, H2 line grounding, etc)

  • Monitor and Maintain Entegris XCDA and H2 purifiers

  • Crane Monthly and Annual PM scheduling

  • Work with facilities engineering and operations on any facilities issues or any new requirements from ASML

  • Provide and maintain storage of all current and new EUV systems

Vendor management

  • New Vendor Badging and Safety Tours

  • Renew badges when needed for existing vendors

  • ILS-BRES user access maintenance

R&D Area Objectives

  • Contributes expert subject area knowledge to resolve issues and solve highly complex problems

  • Contributes to ongoing assigned projects, works with process development engineers on issues and projects, crafts strategic decisions

  • Summarize plans, progress to existing experimental work, and concluded work in the form of written reports

  • Contribute to work on equipment in any areas to help meet department goals

  • Builds on strong customer relationships to understand customer expectations

Self Development and mentoring

  • Serve as a technical EUV scanner authority within Micron

  • Support and mentor other Equipment Engineers in the group

  • Act as a specialist and resource for on shift equipment techs and engineers

  • Provide training and documentation in areas of scanner expertise for pilot line, and PDE engineering

  • Recognize and reward Micron team members for outstanding performance

  • Active engagement with team members in other fabs on equipment issues related to yield, cost, efficiency and performance

  • Provide documentation related to equipment configuration and setup.

  • Engage the vendors for information to improve your knowledge of the equipment

Safety

  • Identify and promptly report hazards

  • Follow safety procedures and area work rules including proper PPE, lockout and chemical safety

  • Operate and maintain equipment and tools within manufacturer's and company guidelines

  • Use proper lifting techniques and work in an ergonomically correct manner

  • Maintain safety certifications in TRAIN

Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to: * We are looking for people with strong aptitude in research and development and an interest and capability to build new production-worthy and low-cost photolithography technologies. * Share technical data and work closely with suppliers to optimize materials for specific applications. * Work in a cleanroom several times a week, follow safety procedures, and use appropriate personal protection equipment. * Collaborate with groups across different departments, sites, and geographies. Maintain global alignment on photo materials and process conditions. * Provide technical support for excursions related to photo materials, both in Boise and at other Micron sites. Qualifications and Skills : * Degree/Major: M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or study relevant to Photolithography with 2 year' semiconductor process related experience; or a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science with 5 years' semiconductor process related experience with emphasis on Photolithography. * Hands-on experience with cleanroom equipment, including familiarity with lithography equipment and processing, and related metrology. Experience with EUV lithography strongly preferred. * Knowledge and an understanding of chemical processes specific to lithography, including photoresists for EUV lithography or advanced lithography nodes. * Knowledge of optics for photolithography or experience with photolithography simulation software such as Prolith or S-Litho is helpful * Coursework or proven experience showing strong statistical analysis skills, including design of experiments and data analysis. Experience with JMP, Python, or other statistical analysis software is helpful * Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed. About Micron Technology, Inc.
