Jenzabar is seeking an ETL Developer to become part of an Agile/Lean product team who is designing, developing and deploying our next-generation enterprise data warehouse product. The ETL Developer, will be actively responsible for designing the data storage systems for the product and building the staging data. This role will also serve as a technical expert and resource collaborating with the Data Architect, Modelers, BI Developers, and Product Team to develop and deliver data storage and movement solutions and to organize and oversee the loading of data into the related systems.
Work closely with Senior ETL Developer and Product team to achieve company business objectives.
Architect, design, develop and deploy ETL infrastructures using data warehouse design best practices, with a focus on high availability, performance, scalability and maintainability.
Evaluate existing and emerging technologies and their potential to enhance the performance and robustness of a technical architecture. Research and experiment with emerging ETL technologies and tools related to Big Data.
Coding ELT/ETL, but also includes data structure analysis and data profiling of source data systems.
Traditional DBA skills, including understanding standard structures, such as Star Schema.
DevOps--Ability to understand and/or code cloud operations and infrastructure.
Ability to relate technical content to non-technical audience, including clients.
Proficiency using common source control systems and understand versioning concepts.
Ability to work in an Agile/Lean environment and team.
Ability to create useful documentation for code and processes, including basic graphical content.
Bachelors Degree in a technology area of study; preferably in Computer Science, MIS or Analytics.
3+ years ETL development experience using one or more of the following data toolsets: Python, R, or SSIS.
4+ years of experience in relational and data warehouse database design.
Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
o* Developing web API--Microservices tools needed by the team or end users, including a web or mobile front end.
o* Creating reports, dashboards, charts using one or more of Power BI, Cognos or notebook (e.g., R markdown)
o* Using data scientist tools like R to build descriptive or predictive models for data analysis.
o* Designing and deploying multi-tenant Cloud solutions.

The ETL Developer is a critical member of the Informatics & Analytics team supporting the implementation and on-going development and operations of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) in support of the overall DFCI mission to improve quality and manage healthcare expense trends. This is a hands-on position that requires a technical and functional understanding of healthcare analytics and data warehousing. Customers include: business/clinical users, directors, leads, architects, consultants, business analysts, and co-developers. To be successful: The incumbent must be an experienced developer with extensive enterprise background using MS SQL Server. The ETL Developer will be required to identify business requirements, develop data models, perform data analysis, write advanced SQL queries and triggers, design and code complex stored procedures, and maintain and performance tune existing databases. Most importantly, the ETL Developer must have an open door policy with their customers. Responsibilities * Designs, builds and maintains data warehouse solutions to support Reporting and Analytics projects * Works with end users, business analysts, technical staff, and other project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance application processes and overall data and process flow and user interface applications * Works with teams to integrate data across clinical, administrative, and financial source systems including the management of critical master data * Integrates source system data into the EDW, including initial development of extraction/integration routines * Participates in the design, development and implementation of the Health Catalyst Platform supporting Clinical and Research Analytics * Creates Source Marts for different Sources using the Source Mart Designer Tool * Works with Business Users and DW Architects to create and deploy Subject Area Marts using SAM designer * Uses the EDW Console (part of the Health Catalyst family of products) to configure batches, execute ETL tasks and monitor health of the EDW * Applies design principals and architectural standards, including those that support security and auditing requirements * Develops strong working relationships with key project team members and customers to ensure activities are aligned with business objectives * Diagnoses and resolves database access and performance issues Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science or management Information Systems * 6+ years of related professional experience including: * 4+ years in data warehousing development in large reporting environment(s) related to clinical, biological, and genomics data. * 4 years experience in data warehouse architecture, design, development and data integration * Experience working with relational databases including SQL Server, PeopleSoft/Oracle * 4+ years of writing complex SQL, T-SQL or PL/SQL * Development experience with ETL tools, such as Microsoft SSIS , Informatica * Strong understanding of Data Architecture, ETL Architecture, SQL Server security, performance monitoring and optimizing * Must have a strong understanding of Kimball approach to data warehousing using denormalized star schemas and snowflakes * Hands on experience performance tuning database applications including indexing, with ability to interpret execution plans * Experience with medical/clinical data exchange standards, such as FHIR and HL7 * Knowledge or experience with any of visualization tools, such as Tableau, Microstrategy is helpful * Prior experience working with healthcare financial and revenue cycle systems is strongly preferred * Experience with Epic preferred Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is an equal opportunity employer and affirms the right of every qualified applicant to receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, disability, age, ancestry, military service, protected veteran status, or other groups as protected by law.
