Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

To supervise and lead a team of operators to maintain and operate the EG1/ASP1 units in an environmentally sound and safe manner, to ensure that we maximize production and minimize production cost. Ensure that we train operators to handle all process situations and ensure that all jobs are done as safely as possible.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Shift Management: Responsible for each operator's safety.

Be accountable for any permit and OSHA violations, for the safe operation of the EG1/ASP1 plants. Ensure the complex has a safe and continuous supply of nitrogen under all circumstances. Charged with accountability for process upsets and resolving the issues associated with those occurrences.

Validate operator time records. Oversee and audit lockouts for maintenance work. Facilitate operator training and maintain documentation.

Schedule manpower to avoid any instance of not having the correct certified operators for the positions needed. Must be able to handle personnel issues that arise on shift in a professional and respectful manner.

PSM: Take the lead to make sure PSM compliance is maintained in the EG1/ASP1 plants. Use experience to work with GMO PSM Coordinator to assure the implementation of PSM procedures is implemented in the most advantageous way to the unit, while still meeting Corporate and Site PSM requirements.

Lead and Facilitate the Optimization of the EG/ASP1 Plant: Anticipate needs, work as a problem solver to eliminate blockages, and enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations. Manage, solve, and/or recommend resolution to discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non-quality related issues.

Initiate Action and as the Critical Liaison: To coordinate with multiple internal departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision makers on various decision-making processes.

Manage, Analyze, Integrate, and Administer Solutions to Improve Efficiency: Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations with critical impact to production planning, credit, quality, logistics, and customer service. Comply with company policy/procedures to streamline day-to-day processes, work flow, and related practices.

Leadership and Staff Development: Coach and lead individual team members for continued development.

THM: Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance Program.

Emphasize Nothing Touch the Ground and No Visual Pollution Program. Maintain the plants' like new condition.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

1.Previous Related Experience Required

A minimum of 5 years' experience in Operations as a Chemical Operator (EG/SP preferred).

2.Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job

Personal computer and applicable software including the ability to learn new systems that the company introduces. Use of hand tools, gauges, indicators, operation of DCS and sample testing equipment.

3.Education

High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five years of (direct job related) experience.

4.Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge

Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
