SUMMARY

First-line manager of a team responsible for development and support of Commercial Lending System applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintains / develops Commercial Lending System applications by addressing various user issues ranging from the coordination of code changes with vendors, process of parameter changes, addressing system performance issues, and implementation of new releases.

  • The team maintains / develops custom applications by making program changes.

  • Provides leadership and daily management. Oversees Developers and Business Analysts.

  • Responsible for effective communication and interaction with the various bank Business Units supported on a daily basis and vendors.

  • For effective interaction with Business Units supported, incumbent must possess strong interpersonal skills as the position works with all levels within the organization.

  • System changes being made are to follow System Development Life Cycle methods, both Waterfall and Agile.

  • Position requires understanding and application of appropriate project management principles.

  • Position requires understanding of functions and features provided by the various applications.

  • Position requires ability to comprehend and adhere to Federal and State banking regulations, Company policies and procedures, and successfully participate in regulatory and Company training requirements via multiple and variable delivery methods.

  • Evaluates and monitors systems as required to ensure the technical infrastructure is properly configured.

  • Manages budget and expenses.

  • Manages and updates Business Continuity Plan for their organization.

  • Effective interaction with Federal and State Examiners, and internal and external auditors.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts hiring, staffing, training, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.

  • Provides leadership by example at all times, through support and endorsement of Bank's policies.

  • Maintains a motivated and informed staff.

  • Supervises five to ten direct reports.

RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area with at least seven years of experience managing Commercial application development and support.

  • Programming experience with mainframe, client server and web applications.

  • Working knowledge of Hogan, FIS ACBS, Linedata iCL, Baker Hill B2B a plus.

  • Good working knowledge of Java or .Net

  • Good working knowledge of Databases MS SQL, Oracle and DB2

  • Good working knowledge of Application and Web Servers Tomcat, WebSphere and/or IIS

  • Good working knowledge of Windows and Linux / Unix Environments

  • Good working knowledge of Secure coding practices and OWASP

  • Good working knowledge of popular Application Architecture models.

  • Working knowledge of Security and Network landscape.

  • Thorough knowledge of SDLC

  • Experience planning and implementing additions, deletions and major modifications to enterprise wide systems and applications.

  • Experience in troubleshooting systems issues.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to plan, organize, and monitor work.

  • Efficient time management skills and detail-oriented; ability to effectively prioritize and work effectively on multiple simultaneous high priority tasks and provide quality deliverables on schedule in a high-pressure environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users and effectively work with lines of business, product vendors and support personnel.

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with others and demonstrate professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.

  • Solid work ethics and willingness to put in extra time/effort, including the ability to perform on-call for off-hours support and troubleshooting which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Ability to create and maintain IT policies and procedures.

  • Experience leading and mentoring systems/applications specialists and developers, preferred.

  • Experience in managing off-shore development and support staff

  • Days: Monday Friday

  • Time: 8AM 5PM

Responsibilities * Develop and manage a business plan and a quote pipeline to drive profitable premium volume and meet annual overall territory goals. * Accountable for achieving territory financial results including new business, total written premium, retention and profitability. * Develop agency relationships that foster long-term partnerships; understand and effectively leverage agent business opportunities, needs and performance objectives. Evaluate agency performance and initiate actions to capitalize on production. * Appoint qualified agencies that demonstrate a need for our products and services and are committed to achieving the objectives negotiated in the annual plan. * Accountable for all aspects of agency management including: training, annual planning, agency reviews, communications, new business assessment and managing accounts. Qualifications * Bachelors' Degree or equivalent industry experience and three+ years of insurance experience within a carrier or agency * In-depth knowledge of company services, products, marketing techniques/principles and insurance industry trends * Proven track record of revenue growth and sales success in a prior role * Working knowledge of all aspects of the business including production management, underwriting, claims, and a good understanding of agency business operations * Proven success in developing and building partnerships, decision-making and problem solving * Highly effective written and oral communication skills, including presentation, effective influencing and negotiation skills * High degree of customer focus, interpersonal relationship skills and problem-solving * Strong analytical and computer skills including proficiency with tablets * Ability to travel daily with occasional overnight travel. * Appropriate driving record required to operate a company vehicle.
