4.5 Hours per day No School June 19th & July 4th THE POSITION Eureka Union School District is hiring a Special Education Paraeducator district-wide to work 30hrs per week under the supervision of the special and general education staff. An example of duties are: -Providing necessary physical, academic and/or emotional support for students with special needs to facilitate success in the least restrictive environment
Paraeducator may be assigned to support more than one student, based on student and program needs.
Provides clear directions and consistent discipline according to school or classroom rules, uses positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior and assists in providing consequences and alternatives for problem behavior.
Operates a variety of assistive technology and assists students in utilization of specialized equipment to support access to instruction and environment including transporting, lifting and/or positioning students in/out of adaptive equipment. Following training by, and under supervision of a credentialed school nurse, provides specialized physical health care procedures such as catheterization, blood glucose monitoring, tracheostomy, suctioning, gastrostomy tube feeding, breathing treatment via nebulizer, etc. to specific students.
