D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Estimator-Land Development for their Main Office. The right candidate will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates for products, projects or services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform quantity take-offs to prepare detailed estimates in accordance with drawings and specifications
Estimate and set-up new plans and jobs
Prepare initial site development budgets and cashflows
Maintain computer databases
Analyze job costs and current bid pricing for budget templates
Assist land acquisition personnel by studying concepts to devise strategies for site and product design on potential new acquisitions
Oversee the collection of information for new projects and studies the reports. drawings, maps, blueprints, aerial photographs, tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and related topographical and geologic data
Collaborate with the land department and assist in coordination with consulting project engineers in preparation of overall engineering design and obtaining approvals on assigned company projects
Present recommendations to address site concerns during the preparation of land plans.
Create feasibility reports summarizing physical site conditions and documenting available utilities on each project
Review change order requests
Support field staff
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have good working knowledge and ability to operate AutoCAD
Must have the ability to meet multiple deadlines
Proficient with MS Excel
