Estimator - Project Manager South Carolina

Premier Fire & Security, an APi Group Life Safety USA company, has an opening for a self-motivated individual to join our team as an Estimator/Project Manager.

Premier Fire & Security has 50 years of experience in the fire suppression industry and has expanded its footprint to serve customers throughout the Southeast. We offer a range of services including: fire sprinkler systems, security systems, fire alarm and detection systems, special hazards systems, voice data systems and fire extinguisher products.

As Estimator, the team member will be responsible for the overall cost proposal development for assigned projects using customized software. Includes complete proposal/quote/estimate development including general conditions, subcontractor supplier items, mark-up, insurance, taxes and bonds, where applicable. As Project Manager, the person will manage assigned projects to include: execution of site visits, work plans, closeout documents and budgets for projects and/or potential projects by generation or interpretation of plans, specifications and evaluation of associated factors (i.e. site conditions, location, etc.). The Project Manager will coordinate and facilitate with other functional areas (i.e. Estimating, CADD, Document Control) to insure that pre and post construction documents meet and fulfill the intent of contract requirements. All functions must be performed accurately and within time constraints, adhering to safety and health rules and regulations, and demonstrating safe and ethical work practices.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare complete and accurate estimates based on customer specifications, product cost, flow test data, permit fees, AHJ requirements, etc.

• Complete initial system design based on building type and occupancy using all applicable code requirements.

• Perform hydraulic calculations to verify system design.

• Enter material take offs into Premier Works custom estimating software.

• Prepare detailed proposals to submit to customers for approval.

• Complete job handoff for obtained jobs and participates in Meeting 1 and 2 as applicable.

• Complete job setup with budget values as well as a schedule of values to submit to accounting.

• Reviews plans and specifications to determining scope of work.

• Generates rough order magnitude job cost analysis.

• Coordinates and conducts site visits and generates subsequent site visit reports. Also attends in progress design reviews, pre-construction meetings and in progress site visits as applicable.

• Directly coordinates with field regarding project production, quality, safety, and subcontractor performance.

• Develops and assists in the scheduling of work to ensure timely completion.

• Reviews in progress designs generated by team member for accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of product.

• Generates contracts, change orders, and purchase orders for signature.

• Mobilizes and de-mobilizes sites as applicable.

The position requires 5 years of experience or a combination of education and experience.

Bachelor's degree in Enginering, Construction Technology, Construction Management or related field preferred.
