Position Summary

On-Site estimator to support multiple EPCM renovation projects. Assist with client pricing for changes to program. Assist with check estimates/ review subcontractor requested changes for all disciplines including Electrical and Mechanical. Part of multi project team running $200M projects for a single client. Coordinate with home office estimators for larger estimating efforts.

  • Reports to Site Project Director.

  • Develop construction cost estimates, primarily on changed conditions.

  • Lead and Estimate tasks for labor and material costs of construction projects, new and renovation, interpret plans & specifications from multiple design phases (conceptual through 100% Construction Documents), and generate quantity takeoffs and pricing for all divisions of work including Electrical and Mechanical.

  • Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex assignments.

  • Use knowledge of general application of construction and estimating principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards to perform moderately complex assignments under general supervision.

  • To produce accurate and quality cost estimates:

o Analyze specifications, sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and subcontractor quotations.

o Coordinate with Jacobs design personnel to fully comprehend the nature of changed conditions.

o Coordinate with Jacobs CM personnel to fully comprehend the nature of changed conditions.

  • Assist with contractor negotiations if needed.

  • Prepare and maintain historical cost data.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of cost estimating experience is required.

  • 2-3 years of cost estimating for Building Electrical and Mechanical Systems is required.

  • BS in Construction Management preferred.

  • Experience with Timberline Estimating Software, On-Screen Takeoff desirable.

  • Estimating certification desirable

  • Basic knowledge of MS Software suite desirable

The primary responsibility of the Coordinator 1 is to determine the scope of business as usual and project work including gathering and reviewing a variety of data and utilizing company resources to set up jobs for success. The Coordinator 1 will be responsible for the layout of job costing and approach to receive the necessary approvals in order to meet required Service Level Agreement (SLA). Duties & Responsibilities * Maintain updates on job statuses throughout its life cycle * Review new job requirements and communicate any additional information requests through P2 Chatter * Enter costing into Remedy * Enter initial profile of jobs into Remedy * Responsible for ongoing management of the coaxial jobs, including installation, operations, and maintenance of the network equipment at facilities * Coordinate outside and inside plant construction activities, including but not limited to: pre-construction job evaluation, point of contact communications, white lining of job site, aligning job expectations with contractors, costing of jobs and completing close out packages * Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with personnel at all organizational levels as well as other external contacts Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience * Understanding of the fundamentals of Cable TV * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to learn Remedy, Spatial, P2 and Watchtower within first 90 days * Learn, understand and employ the basic principles of project management * Pro-actively seeks new opportunities to increase operational efficiency * Proven strong oral and written communication skills and ability to successfully deliver presentations to executive level * Possess strong organizational, time management and analytical skills * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demands with competing priorities, all while making timely decisions * Demonstrated ability to develop and execute short- and long-term objectives in a team environment * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint * Must be available for on-call work to support network emergencies * Ability to travel as required * Must pass a background check and drug screen * Valid driver's license required Decisive Communications, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
