The Estimator will report to the Vice President of Estimating and coordinate and participate in the preparation of all estimates that are provided by the Estimating Department. The Estimator will plan, coordinate and assist in supervising the company estimating program, providing technical and administrative direction to ensure corporate objectives are met.

The Estimator's role is important in every construction project. Every type of project requires an accurate and comprehensive estimate of the amounts of materials, equipment and labor necessary for the construction of the project.

Our estimators work with the engineer's and architect's drawings or blueprints to prepare a complete list of all job costs, including labor, material, equipment, and specialty items necessary to complete the project. Their knowledge of construction techniques and proper scheduling of purchases and work are essential skills.

Additional Requirements:

Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. Advance management or technical training preferred. 4 or more years of experience in commercial construction estimating, pre-construction services, and related functions plus thorough knowledge or corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies/techniques, and construction contacts required.

Excellent organizational, supervisory, and decision making / problem solving skills essential. Major profit and loss responsibility influencing corporate success or failure. Must have a consistent employment history, demonstrating loyalty and commitment.

Experience on Commercial, Multi-Family, Education, and/or Healthcare projects is a plus! Come grow with us and put your talents to use where they will be appreciated and acknowledged!</p><p><strong>Key responsibilities of the position are:</strong></p><p>∙ Review scope of construction work to be completed to determine the type of work, basic materials, project duration and define the responsibilities for construction.</p><p>∙ Use information available and background knowledge to assemble complete competent bidders’ list to coordinate pre-bid meetings, bid review meetings, and to track job costs throughout the project.</p><p>∙ Participate in the selection of the “qualified” subcontractors and the identification of assignments given due to knowledge of past performances.</p><p>∙ Use established estimating procedures/standards as guidelines in the performance of routine duties and participate in the development of new/revised procedures/standards as required.</p><p>∙ Conduct quantity survey activities in order to produce accurate estimates for each scope/division of work.</p><p>∙ Secure pricing from subcontractors; use internal database and team expertise to determine cost of self-perform work.</p><p><strong>Education/Experience Requirements</strong>: College degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent AND 10+ years experience in estimating large ($20 million+) projects. Candidate must possess the ability to handle a fast paced, highly competitive environment within a team-based work group.
