Estimator

Purpose of the Position:

Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals, drawings, and requirements for a job/ project.

Essential job functions:

• Prepares work to be estimated in detail for all products by gathering proposals, drawing information, specifications, and related documents

• Identifies material and labor (if required) by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents

• Reviews and evaluates cost estimates

• Computes costs and prepares cost analysis

• Communicates with vendors/ suppliers and company personnel regarding new and current projects

• Ensures timely completion of estimates

• Understands scope of work to bid

• Manages bid pricing from vendors/ suppliers

• Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data

Marginal job functions:

• Performs other activities as assigned

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Computer skills a must.

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.

• Experienced in Made2Manage ERP program or able to learn quickly.

• Skilled to work in a high-stress/fast-paced work environment.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

• 3+ years' experience in construction estimating

• Able to read drawings and develop cost estimates

• Attention to detail

Physical Demands:

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Week: 40-50 hrs Lunch: 1 hr

(Overtime may be required based on shop needs but must be pre-approved by management.)
