Job Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent serves to support the fiduciary management team in administering complex fiduciary accounts, as well as estate settlement matters, for which Thrivent Trust Company is acting as trustee, personal representative, guardian or conservator.
The incumbent will provide advanced support by being given primary responsibility for certain trust accounts and/or account duties such as reviewing legal documents related to trusts and estates, monitoring discretionary distributions, assisting with account reviews, monitoring of required correspondence, notices and other items with critical dates such as Crummey notices, tax deadlines, and other duties.
Responsible to understand certain legal principles associated with management of fiduciary accounts, such as statutory trust accounting principles and basic trust law. Engages fiduciary officers or management for more complex matters.
The incumbent will have direct contact with clients and beneficiaries, as well as internal and external contacts such as financial representatives, attorneys, CPA's and other professionals.
The incumbent acts as a liaison to trust operations regarding proper account set up, account opening and closing, monitors proper trust accounting entries and tax coding of income and disbursements including discretionary distributions, and other matters.
Assists in the training of new employees and existing employees not familiar with complex fiduciary matters, as necessary
Required Job Qualifications
Paralegal, associates or college degree required (related field is preferred)
Minimum of 3 years trust administration and/or estate settlement experience in a law firm or trust department environment.
Demonstrated knowledge or experience with trust accounting or trust accounting systems
