Job Summary:
This position will assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and analyzing professional learning series within the agency.
Provide coaching and technical assistance to instructional coaches, general education, and special education teachers on effective, evidence-based strategies designed to improve the learning outcomes for students with disabilities.
Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
Job Duties:
Project coordination for the planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and data collection and analysis of learning series that improve learning outcomes for students with disabilities
Assist LEAs in developing, implementing, and analyzing plans that result in continuous improvement in the instruction of students with disabilities
Provide technical assistance and coaching to instructional coaches, general education, and special education teachers in using effective, evidence-based instructional practices to improve teaching and learning outcomes for students with disabilities
Engage in an ongoing strategic planning process that uses data analysis to determine areas in need of improvement for our state, identifies and prioritizes technical assistance and targeted professional learning aligned to those areas of need
Evaluate the fidelity of the implementation of technical assistance and professional learning designed to improve teaching and learning outcomes for students with disabilities
Participate in various department/division task teams, additional projects, and professional learning as necessary to carry out work-related requirements
Work with technical assistance centers, organizations that promote teaching and learning outcomes for students with disabilities, and other agency partners to improve the outcomes for students with disabilities, support general and special educators with collaborative implementation, learning, and how to identify trends/needs

Arizona Language Arts Anchor Standards
Applicants must have teaching experience and Reading Endorsement.
A bachelor's degree in education with specialization in reading or special education, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required.

Selective Preferences:
Preference will be given to those applicants with:
Master's degree in special education or a related field
Knowledge of the science of reading

Retirement:
