The College of Southern Idaho is seeking a passionate and dedicated person to serve as an eSports Coach part-time. This position will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing the college's eSports program, with the ultimate goal of transitioning into a collegiate team competing in the NJCAA. The successful candidate will have the chance to train players, lay the program's foundation, and contribute to the development of a vibrant gaming community on campus.
Responsibilities:
Coach and mentor players to enhance their skills in various competitive gaming titles.
Develop and implement training programs to prepare players for competitive matches and tournaments.
Collaborate with college administration to secure funding and resources for the eSports program.
Assist in the setup and management of the gaming room within the Student Union building, including selecting equipment and configuring gaming stations.
Organize and oversee gaming events, competitions, and club meetings.
Foster a positive and inclusive gaming culture that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Collaborate with Student Affairs to ensure appropriate access and utilization of the gaming room by club members.
Assist in the development of marketing strategies to promote the eSports program and attract new players.
Establish connections with the local gaming community and explore opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Stay updated on trends and developments in the eSports industry to continuously improve the program.
Develop the eSports Student Handbook to begin taking the eSports club and transitioning them into an NJCAA eSports sanctioned collegiate competition team.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in coaching or playing competitive esports preferred.
Strong knowledge of popular gaming titles and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and staff.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of the program.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
