Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking an ESP Tech for the Eunice, NM office. The position will support the Eddy and Lea County NM Production teams with ESP monitoring, troubleshooting, installs, pulls, etc... Reporting to the Field Engineering Lead, this position will be responsible for all ESPs in the New Mexico area.

General Responsibilities:

  • Monitor ESPs to optimize performance, increase production, and maximize runtime

  • Train field personnel in basic operation and safety regarding ESP

  • Work alongside and set-up training sessions with field staff & management/controls/etc. outlining best practices, safety measures, etc.

  • Troubleshoot ESP systems and work with ops group to restore operation when possible

  • Work with field ops to diagnose issues, prior to working with third party technicians

  • Coordinate with ESP technician while on location; arrival time/service provided/departure time & field signatory validation of tech visit invoices

  • Advise on when to request a DIFA, attend as needed, and advocate for fair charges on Vitals behalf.

  • Be available to periodically assist with ESP well design and audit well tech visits

  • Assist in evaluation of ESP vendors, new technologies, and Vital operating strategies

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

  • 3 or more years of production experience required

  • Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle

  • Must have a diverse background in ESP services/support roles and understand downhole and surface equipment extremely well

  • Demonstrate proficiency with PC based computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Needs a good understanding of using SCADA and other technology designed tools and programs

  • Must be able to perform simple math calculations, mechanical aptitude, possess effective writing skills, and have a safe driving record

Working Conditions:

Work is normally performed outdoors where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common; Noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, and trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured propane, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions; May work in areas where H2S is present; Overtime is sometimes required. Must be available for on-call.

Physical Demands:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50-to-75-pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain. May be required to fit test and perform duties wearing SCBA and WBA.
