Job Title: ESP Core Truth Model Engineer

Labor Location: Huntsville, AL

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position provides System Engineering support to define and implement strategic planning efforts for Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Core Truth Models (CTM). The position requires technical coordination with internal and external organization to define CTM requirements and system-level plans to support development and integration of the CTM into digital and real-time M&S frameworks and truth services.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years relevant experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of M&S and core truth modeling, particularly for Digital and Hardware-In-The-Loop environments.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) and Elector Optical (EO)/Infrared (IR) signature development and lethality and environmental modeling.

  • Technical understanding of M&S frameworks, interface requirements, and functionality of the M&S Enterprise in Ground Test and Digital venues.

  • Ability to conduct technical, programmatic, and engineering activities to assist with CTM strategic planning, long and short-range planning, and analysis of alternatives for Digital and HWIL activities and events.

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas; produces and presents clear, well-organized presentations, in relevant terms for audiences at all levels.

  • Confident in personal interaction; ability to negotiate solutions between stakeholder needs, technical, and schedule constraints

  • Conduct and participate in technical meetings and working groups and provide status reports and updates as required

  • Motivated, energetic self-starter with excellent people skills, ability to work in a team environment, strong work ethic and proactive in all manners related to the job

  • Skilled, using Microsoft Office products to communicate technical information

  • General understanding of the MDA Systems Engineering practices and processes.

  • Familiarity with the BMDS system level documentation such as Digital and Hardware in the Loop System Requirement Documents, M&S Policy documents, Continuous Integration/ Continuous Agile Testing

  • Relevant knowledge of BMDS VV&A methods

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Science, or Math. MA/MS desired
  • 10+ years relevant experience desired

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Secret Clearance required

The positions require detailed oriented individuals who will perform a variety of tasks including radar operation and using raw radar data, analyzing radar performance from flight and ground tests. Ideal candidates will have hands-on radar experience with one of the 5 radars from the Sensors Directorate portfolio (AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Cobra Dane or LRDR) and a good understanding of systems engineering processes, missile defense architectures and weapon systems, and Air and Missile Defense radar applications. The candidates should be capable of be executing documented test and analysis procedures on a demanding schedule and should be a self-starter's who can work with minimal supervision. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer.
