Primary Purpose:
The role of the ESL Instructional Coach is to provide instructional support to all teachers who serve Bilingual/ESL students. They will assist in coordinating curriculum activities and foster a supportive environment for the Bilingual/ESL programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum (PK-12)
Familiarity and experience with state assessment preparation and disaggregation of test data
Technology skills such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Eduphoria and Promethean ActiV Studio
Effective Communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills a must
Experience:
Performance Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist and support campus principal as directed, including but not limited to the following:
Coordinate curriculum activities and foster a supportive environment for Bilingual/ESL department, innovation and professional growth
Monitor new developments in the state curriculum and assist staff with the improvement of TELPAS and state test scores
Serve as a resource to all level teachers, administrators and curriculum personnel in AISD in area(s) of curriculum expertise
Assist campus administrator in ensuring that ELPS curriculum requirements are met
Assist with effective TEKS and ELPS Resource implementation
Assist with intervention resources, such as Summit K12 or other program establish to support EBs
Assist with disaggregation of testing data and item analysis of test questions (i.e. Eduphoria Aware)
Assist teachers with lesson planning, instructional strategies and classroom management
Assist teachers with intervention for EB students
Provide demonstration lessons and staff development training and activities for teachers
Provide a communication link between the campus and the Bilingual/ESL Department
Perform other job-related duties as may be required by the Associate Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, Bilingual/ESL Department, Executive Director of Federal Programs and campus administrator
