Description

The main purpose of the role is to support Business Unit ESH Leadership in delivering ESH program improvements across the assigned sites. This role will be key in deploying an Environmental Health and Safety Management system and ensuring that the assigned sites remain compliant with regulatory and internal ESH requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with Company's Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

  • Ensure all required company and regulatory reporting requirements are submitted on-time

  • Develop Non-ESH site personnel to support implementation of ESH programs

  • Interface with regulatory bodies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators)

  • Responsible to lead management personnel in the investigations of plant incidents and complaints regarding unsafe working conditions and practices.

o Help Identify an immediate solution, root cause, and track corrective actions to completion.

  • Implement continuous improvement plans to ensure success on Corporate safety, Health and Environmental audits or assessments

  • Represent management during Company / ESH Meetings along with the other plant personnel

  • Manage workers compensation

  • Serve as a facilitator for hourly and supervisory employee EHS training

  • Lead in new hire training

  • Responsible for ensuring plant atmosphere and hygiene compliance

  • Lead/manage environmental program with help from an environmental consultant

  • Performs other ESH duties as required by management

Additional Information

  • Position based in Houston, TX
  • 25-35% travel required

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 5 years working in an EH&S role in a manufacturing or distribution center environment

  • Ability to manage ESH program with minimal oversight

  • Ability to meet internal/external deadlines

  • Experience with preparing and succeeding on internal ESH audits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundry experience

  • Experience managing recordable injuries without an onsite nurse/doctor

  • Prior knowledge with using Velocity ESH Software or relevant experience

  • Exposure to all Industrial Hygiene Programs with emphasis on hearing conservation and ergonomics
