About the Job

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the department manager and/or supervisor and following established procedures, performs a variety of duties including assisting patients as they transfer between departments and picking-up and delivering mail, medical records, specimens and equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Patient Escort: Properly and safely uses wheelchairs and stretchers to transport patients throughout the clinic.

    Utilizes proper lifting techniques and all other safeguards as defined by Lahey Clinic. Assures accuracy by matching patient ID bracelet with information provided on escort request paperwork. Ensures that all relevant charts, records, and requisitions accompany the patient to all testing areas.

    Picks up and delivers all patient-related items as requested by the dispatcher. Inspects transport equipment prior to each transport to ensure that it is in proper working order, and reports any equipment that may be in need of repair. Responds to pages within five (5) minutes. Notifies dispatcher of any problems with or changes to an assigned call.

  • Messenger: Transports incoming and outgoing mail between departments; delivers patient charts to assigned floors.

  • Mail Room: Sorts incoming and outgoing mail.

    Applies appropriate postage, and prepares outgoing mail for pick-up. Maintains mail on shelves and cart in a neat and orderly manner. Inspects postage and mailing machines to ensure that they are in proper working order, and reports any equipment that may be in need of repair.

  • Equipment Transport: Ensures that oxygen tanks are properly filled to capacity prior to attempting patient transport. Ensures that all equipment used for transport is returned to its proper location upon completion of the call.

  • Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.

  • Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.

  • Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.

  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.

  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.

  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.

  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: None required

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and perform alpha-numeric sorting. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.

Experience: 1 year of experience in a related setting.

VIEW JOBS 4/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-14T00:00 About the Job Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Enrollment is responsible for oversight and general management of the BILPN functions and services directed to the enrollment of participating providers in payor and government systems, including initial applications, revalidations and recredentialing. The Director also oversees the assessment of the various workflow processes involved in health plan enrollment, and creates and executes on a plan for provider enrollment IT system improvements and updates. Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: * Manages output and quality of Provider Enrollment staff through development of function-specific metrics. Works with the Manager of Enrollment to ensure that quarterly goals are set and met by the Enrollment team * Develops, maintains, updates and oversees policy and procedures of the enrollment function. This includes development and updating of policy and procedure manuals and development of enrollment procedures with 3rd party payors and internal partners, including Member Hospital Professional Staff Affairs (PSA) office * Development, negotiation, maintenance and tracking of delegated credentialing agreements. Coordination with PSA on delegation audits for health plans. Coordination with BILH Legal Dept on required contractual notifications to payors pertaining to specific providers and confidentiality with regard to same. * Tracks progress and implements quality improvement of enrollment operations, ensuring that payor enrollment is completed within required time frames to ensure optimal revenue capture. Develops goals to reduce the enrollment processing time in areas BILPN can directly control. Develop a best practices system for enrollment. Continuously streamlines processes and develops a system to track work output. * Works with health plans to manage enrollment processes for new provider groups in a timely manner. Holds monthly meetings with major payors to identify and resolve operational issues between providers and payors that effect enrollment, practice operations or revenue capture. Facilitates identification and resolution of BILPN issues that also effect enrollment. * Oversees quarterly reconciliation of provider lists and binding authority documentation to ensure adequate enrollment procedures for payors. Oversees distribution, collection and tracking of participating provider agreements and any related amendments. * Assesses the various workflow processes involved in health plan enrollment, and creates and executes on a plan for enrollment system improvements and updates within the provider enrollment IT systems and others in use at the organization. * Oversees the administration of the managed care contracting messenger model. Works with health plans to seek permission for contract offerings and maintains the messengered contracting process within strict anti-trust guidelines. Maintains careful, confidential documentation of all messenger model processes. * Represents BILPN to various external committees: Mass Med Society, Mass Health Data Consortium Operations Council, HCAS Credentialing Implementation Task Force, Healthcare Financial Management Association. * Has the authority to direct and support managers with functional area responsibilities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews. * Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget in functional area of department.
