Job Summary:

Reviews,schedules, and processes unclaimed property reporting for the delivery to thestates in accordance with their Unclaimed Property requirements. The teammember will work closely with the other members of the department to ensure thecompletion of all deliverables by internal and State deadlines. Assistsmanagement with routine to moderately complex escheatment research andprocessing.

PositionResponsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Files state reports and remits unclaimed property in accordance with staterules, guidelines and best practices

  • Balances and reconciles reports to discover and resolve any reportingdiscrepancies

  • Prepares and coordinates printing and mailing of due diligence noticesand posting of required advertising

  • Provides research assistance to internal/external customers (Clients,Account Executives, Management)

  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Skills:

Required:

  • Ability to read, interpret andgain a basic understanding of various state requirements

  • Knowledge of or ability andwillingness to quickly learn new technology platforms

  • Excellent time management andorganizational skills

  • Proficient technology skills(specifically MS Word and Excel)

  • Team oriented, but can work independentlyif required

  • Creativity/problem solvingability

  • Ability to negotiate and setpersonal priority and get work done within the timeframes established

Preferred:

  • Expert understanding of MS Excel

Education:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-yearcollege or technical school; or six months to one year related experienceand/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Strongly Preferred:

  • Three to five years of Unclaimed Propertyprocessing experience

Preferred:

  • Five or more years of Unclaimed Property processing experience

Travel Required:

It is expected that this position may includetravel up to 5% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors,including business needs.

Language Ability:

Ability to read/analyze/interpret business periodicals/journals/technical procedures/gov. regulations; write reports/businesscorrespondence/procedure manuals; effectively present information/respond toquestions from managers/clients/customers/public.

Mathematical Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentand to draw and interpret bar graphs.

The primary role of the LPSS is to engage customers, promote customer service and provide deterrence to theft. The LPSS will be highly visible and spend the majority of their time at the store entrance and in "Center Core". The LPSS will work to raise shortage awareness among store associates. This position will communicate frequently with both store management and loss prevention associates. ACCOUNTABILITIES PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Works to promote customer service in the store by implementing the Kohl's "Smile and Say Hi" initiatives and helping customers with their needs * Assists in implementing loss prevention strategy * Promote a neat and clean store appearance at the entrance * Conducts associate package checks * Works in "Center Core" or at entrances to deter theft and provide customer service OTHER DUTIES * Will NOT make shoplifting apprehensions * May assist the loss prevention associates, as necessary * Conducts building and physical security inspections to minimize exposure to loss * Promotes a safe environment for associates and customers and responds to emergency situations QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED * Maintains attendance according to Kohl's standards * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Works well with fellow associates, supervisors and customers * Maintains high ethical standards and adheres to Kohl's policies and procedures * Maintains standards of appearance by following the required Kohl's dress code * Ability to participate in physical activities, including walking, lifting and climbing on a regular basis PREFERRED * Experience in a customer service environment * Prior experience in retail loss prevention, security or law enforcement preferred Kohl's Jersey City NJ
