SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
DESCRIPTION:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will work in cooperation with appropriate district supervisors, teachers, parents, and students, and be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders. The SLP will help students to adjust and access the general education curriculum. The SLP will adhere to the district curriculum when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Active Washington State SLP License required.
Valid Washington State ESA* Speech Language Pathologist Certificate/Communication Disorders Certification. Information on obtaining an ESA certificate may be found here and here
Masters Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology
CCC's recommended; CFY available
Expertise in writing IEP's
Experience in multi-disciplinary team participation.
Ability to design, evaluate and monitor student special education programs for students with communication and language disorders.
Successful school experience/internship.
Understanding of Washington State's Essential Academic Learning requirements.
Knowledge of Special Education law.
Strong communication skills are essential.
