We are seeking a candidate with extensive property experience, particularly in E&S lines. Candidates should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant claims experience and be adept at communicating expertise effectively, adding immediate value to the E&S claims department.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of the E&S claims unit

• Serve as a leader and mentor to the claims team offering technical guidance regarding adjustment of claims while providing superior customer service to our policyholders and external partners

• Coach and mentor direct reports, providing regular feedback, and developing employees for professional growth and development

• Identify and assess coverage issues including issuing disclaimers, RORs, and position letters

• Investigates potentially fraudulent claims and take appropriate action in conjunction with the SIU Department

• Develop and maintain relationships with company internal and external parties and track and manage servicing metrics

• Engage with and travel to key external partners as needed

• Prepare and present written and oral reports to Management setting forth all issues influencing claim evaluations and impact on reserves

• Work with internal partners such as distribution, underwriting and actuaries regarding claim trends

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of E&S Property claims experience

• Thorough understanding of the E&S property insurance claims landscape including relationships with external partners

• Understanding of and ability to balance both the immediate claim issues as well as the broader portfolio impact and customer service impact of coverage disputes and issues

• Thorough knowledge of claims, litigation, appraisals and trial processes as well as excellent analytical, investigative, and negotiating skills

• Demonstrated ability to take part in strategic discussions and collaborate at all organizational levels, both internally and externally

• Experience with Xactimate and Xactanalysis

• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as superior customer service skills

• Proper adjuster licensing

• Management experience preferred
