• Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

• Direct and coordinate nursing care based on nursing practice standards.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care for the best possible patient outcome.

• Serve as a resource person when needed.

• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care.

• Responsible for the care of all patients from birth to elderly.

• Maintain competencies and practice nursing as described in the state's regulations for Registered Nursing.

• Utilize cognitive and technical knowledge to manage care across the continuum.

• Flexible with work schedule and capable of independent actions within prescribed limits.

• Administer treatments, medications, and interpret diagnostic tests.

• Provide patient, family, and significant other education.

• Collaborate with other professionals, utilizing the nursing process.

• Proficient in medical terminology, basic nursing skills, and basic EKG skills.

• Read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Document actions involved in care delivery and follow guidelines and procedures.

• Present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the public.
