Downtown College Prep (DCP) prepares first-generation students for college success. DCP was the first charter school in Silicon Valley and currently operates two high schools and two middle schools in San Jose, CA.

DCP currently serves 1750 students in grades 5-12 and provides college coaching, mentoring, and college scholarships to over 400 alumni. Downtown College Prep was founded with the belief that all students, regardless of background and prior academic achievement, can and should be prepared for college success. Job Summary

The position of ERMHS Counselor is responsible for supporting the academic and socio-emotional needs of students with IEPs, using a strategic and systems-based process that reflects the specific counseling needs of students and the overall evolving needs of the academic environment. This position is a part-time position.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid certification/licensure for ERMHS including at least one of the following: Educational Psychologist PPS, School Psychologist Licensed Psychologist Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Comments and Other Information

Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university At least two years of successful school counseling experience preferred Experience working with students who have a background of limited resources Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work as a team and in stressful environments. Knowledge of how to interact, develop interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively with persons from varying backgrounds and experiences. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data.
