JOB SUMMARY:

To provide workstation and other environmental ergonomic evaluations for Marin Health Medical Center and Marin Health Medical Network employees including scheduling appointments, conducting onsite or virtual assessments, providing written recommendations, ordering appropriate equipment, coordinating with Facilities Planning and Development for furniture and structural management, education in self-care, stretches and use of equipment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

BA or BS in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, Kinesiology, or Human Factors and Ergonomics preferred

EXPERIENCE

One year in Ergonomics field work preferred.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS

• Basic understanding of environmental, health and safety principles, knowledge and experience in creative problem-solving using engineering, behavioral and administrative solutions

• Able to tolerate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, attentive to detail and thoroughness in work output

• Exceptional customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrates empathy and patience, flexibility and adaptability, a positive, helpful attitude

• Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow verbal and written instruction, create reports, design teaching tools, use of Microsoft Office software

• Self-directed, highly organized, able to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team

LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Valid CA drivers license

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL (not modifiable)

• Respond to Ergonomic evaluation requests received from individual employees, supervisors/managers, employee physician, Safety, Human Resources (Integrated

• Disability Management)

• Schedule and perform assessments, provide solutions, equipment recommendations within approved vendor lists and education and training on safe work habits and self care including posture, rest breaks, stretching

• Act as a consultant for selection of standardized furniture and equipment, space and office moves, resource for ergonomic solutions to industrial/non-office safety concerns

• Organize and track documentation of above services

SECONDARY (modifiable)

• Suggest and, as authorized, introduce new methods and techniques

• Keep abreast of current trends and developments in the field. Demonstrate evidence of continuously seeking, acquiring and updating professional knowledge and skills

• Provide presentations to new employees, respond to Departmental or Administration requests
