ERACE Program Assistant
10 Months - 29.5 hours/week

  • Additional summer hours possible

Location: Branford High School

Schedule and Hours: Monday Thursday 1:30-8:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am-1:30 pm

Start date: Monday, August 26, 2019

Rate: $20.00/hr

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with a variety of people of different ages and cultures

  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Organized and highly detail-oriented

  • Knowledgeable about adult education and the programs offered at ERACE

  • Familiarity with CASAS, Accuplacer, GED Testing and CARS a plus

  • Two-year degree or higher

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee general office operations

  • Register and assess all new and returning high school diploma students

  • Input all student data into the Connecticut Adult Reporting System (CARS)

  • Maintain accurate student files, attendance records, spreadsheets and reports

  • Communicate with students, staff, district high schools and community partners

  • Register students for the GED Test and proctor the exam

  • Assist with marketing efforts and ERACE event planning

A nurse practitioner is a licensed, practitioner who is responsible for providing and coordinating primary care to an identified panel of patients including history, assessment, planning, intervention and consultation. The APRN works collaboratively within the practice support staff, with other APCs, and physicians, and utilizes a team approach in the care of the patient. The APC may diagnose illness and physical conditions and perform or order therapeutic and corrective measures. Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients by interview, health history, physical exam and diagnostic tests. Participates in quality and patient satisfaction improvement initiatives. Carries out responsibilities independently, if so certified, or with minimal need for supervision if not so certified. Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools. Qualifications EDUCATION Educational preparation at the Master's Level of nursing. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner program required. In addition, holds a BSN degree from an accredited institution. EXPERIENCE 1-3 years clinical experience related to the specialty of Internal Medicine. LICENSURE Certified as APRN by the Nursing Certification Board or American Nurses Credentialing Center. Must hold a valid State Controlled Substance Registration, a Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification, a valid State RN and APRN license. May hold a State Independent Practice license if qualified. SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
