Minimum Qualifications

Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED certificate and Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within two years; Or have an associate or baccalaureate degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to a degree (as of September 30, 2013).

Desirable Qualifications

Knowledgeable in child development and parenting

General understanding of Head Start programs and standards

Ability to work cooperatively with children and adults

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, staff and community

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to perform physical aspects of position

Ability to observe and record accurately

Ability to meet federal/state guidelines (where appropriate) and/or to successfully complete specified in-service courses

CPR and First Aid Certified

Training or experience wth seeds and owl curriculums

Additional Information:

This paraprofessional position will work Monday

  • Thursday 9:30 am

  • 1:30 pm.

Additional hours are for monthly Friday meetings.

This position is not benefit elgible.

Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation.
