Desert Springs Hospital Medical Centeris a 293-bed acute care facility that has been providing quality healthcare to residents of Southern Nevada since 1971. The hospital has long been referred to as "The Heart Hospital" by residents, due to its solid reputation as a leader in cardiac care. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency services and is nationally recognized for its diabetes, weight loss (bariatric) surgery, cardiac, and stroke programs.
Job Description:
Responsible for patient care/service and assigned duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia course
or successful completion of an arrhythmia test given by the Education Department. Techs
working with IVs must have successfully completed an IV course.
License/Certification: Current BLS Certification. Certification of completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia course or
certification by the Education Department of successful completion of an arrhythmia test.
Certified Phlebotomist preferred. IV certification preferred.
Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service
appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
