We are seeking an energetic candidate for our Admitting Department. The perfect candidate will facilitate the patient admission flow, including patient identification, accurate demographics, obtain all required signatures and documents. Candidate will be responsible for insurance authorization, notification, and verification of benefits in order to obtain accurate and prompt reimbursement. Additional duties include providing information and answering questions about payment assistance, point of service collections, and compliance with HIPAA and EMTALA.

In this position you will be working in our ER Registration. You will facilitate the patient admission flow, including patient identification, accurate demographics, insurance information, required signatures, documents and will be responsible for insurance authorization, notification and verification of insurance benefits in order to obtain accurate and prompt reimbursement. Additional duties include providing information and answering questions about payment assistance, collection co-payments, patient liabilities and entering all necessary information into the hospital computer system.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2 years of customer service experience

  • Experience utilizing a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents

  • Comfortable working (week 1) - Monday- 7a-5:30p, Tuesday, Friday

  • 9a-7:30p, Saturday

  • 7a-5:30p (week 2) Sunday, Monday- 7a-5:30p, Thursday-9a-7:30p, Friday

  • 7a-5:30p

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance benefits experience or knowledge

  • Cerner / MS4 experience

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

  • Experience with Healthcare Admissions or Registration

Primary Responsibilities: * Identify nursing staffing needs * Coordination and collaboration of care for home infusion patients with all associated departments * Assist nursing with management of nursing schedules * Work with the junior level staff to insure metrics are met * Resolve Customer Service inquiries which could include: * Entering notifications and Providers' status of an existing inquiry, and determining if follow - up is required * Provide excellent Customer Service to both Providers and members * Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining good attendance * Administrative duties - assist with document control, emails, faxes, tasks related to support the nursing team with coordination of care for home infusion patients. Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma / GED or higher * 2 years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems * Must be able to create, edit, save and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel * Experience working within the Healthcare Industry * Working knowledge of Medical Terminology to communicate with members and providers Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or higher * Understanding of HIPAA Regulations * Home Infusion or Home Health scheduling experience * Experience working with Healthcare Insurance * Experience working with Medicare and / or Medicaid Services * Experience working in a call center environment Soft Skills: * Excellent communication skills both written and oral * Strong analytical abilities * Attention to detail * Appreciation of deadlines OptumRx is anempowering place for people with the flexibility to help create change.Innovation is part of the job description.
