ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE EQUITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST POSITION: iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. We use the K-12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via the Newrow platform.

Teachers instruct students online daily both synchronously and asynchronously. The Equity and Support Specialist plays a crucial role in promoting equity and inclusivity within our educational institution. This multifaceted position involves providing support and interventions for English Language (EL) students, facilitating 504 meetings, conducting needs assessment meetings, and organizing and facilitating student support team meetings.

The specialist ensures that all students receive the necessary accommodations and support to thrive academically and socially. Experience/Requirements: • Must hold a valid California Teaching credential • California English Learner Authorization • Strong organizational skills • Experience working in and educational setting • Detail oriented • Able to balance and complete multiple projects • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team • Attend regularly scheduled meetings • Attend in-person training as scheduled

HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Full time position work Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
