Equipment Technician Photolithography, CMP, Metrology

  • Perform general and specific preventive and corrective maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Requires the use of diagnostic equipment and procedures to maintain and repair production equipment. Majority of work is conducted in a clean room environment requiring the wearing of specific clothing to be worn over regular clothing.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Participate as part of a team or independently in identifying and solving problems

  • Utilize Promis, SPC, Oracle, Fault Detection Control and other electronic media in problem solving and general documentation of work performed.

  • Follow prescribed procedures for safety, clean room and documentation.

  • Assist in equipment installations, writing specification/procedures, performing projects and other tasks as assigned by the Manager and/or team.

  • Dismantle, adjust and repair equipment according to maintenance specifications and repair manuals.

  • Use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.

  • Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures and specifications.

  • Opportunity to provide leadership to other technicians by providing training and mentoring.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Technical experience in at least one of the following areas: Photolithography, CMP, Metrology (ASML 5500, DNS tracks, TEL tracks, KLA/Tencor metrology tools)

  • An AAT/AAS degree or Certificate of Completion in Electronics, electromechanical, semiconductor technology, or other technical program. Applicable experience may be substituted for a degree. Semiconductor maintenance experience required.

  • Capable of standing for at least 75% of the time during any particular Shift.

  • The technician must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude; this is required to learn/perform assigned maintenance tasks.

  • Ability to apply technical knowledge, training and procedure comprehension to perform routine and sustaining maintenance on semiconductor manufacturing equipment in accordance with established procedures/specifications.

  • Ability to comprehend and solve basic electronics, mechanical and mathematics problems.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal format.

  • Ability to work in a team environment. Individual must be self-motivated and able to interface effectively with other groups.

  • Capable of working with and around chemicals (safety training is provided).

  • Remain as shift flexible as possible as there exists the chance of being moved from the nights to the day shift (or vice versa), also must be able to work weekends as well as weekdays.

Organization skills and the ability to prioritize one's work.

VIEW JOBS 10/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-07T00:00 The Heavy Equipment Technician II is responsible for developing independent diagnosis and repair of all equipment with technical assistance. This role requires an Associate's Degree from an accredited vocational school or comparable work experience and a minimum of two years' working on heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Independently troubleshoots various machines with limited Technician III or IV assistance. Walks around machinery to inspect. Operates machinery to locate problem. Asks Technician III or IV as needed to assist in diagnosing problems for quality control. * Gives diagnosis to Service Writer. Works with Service Writer to achieve an appropriate estimate. * Gathers parts needed for repair, using parts book to accurately determine correct parts required for the job. Communicates required repair parts to Parts Consultant. * Uses technician tools, including but not limited to: service manuals, operations manuals, SIS Web STW and parts books effectively to address technical issues. * Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures. * Requests Technician III or IV to conduct quality control review of repaired machine. * Writes service report for every machine repair in detail. Prints off hardcopy of service report with work orders and saves to server. * Assists other technicians on large repairs. * Handles all customer inquiries in a prompt and professional manner. * Adheres to all customer care standards. * Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States. Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards. * May accomplish training and serve as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives. * Work within and promote corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization. * Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Increasing specialization in machine systems, such as but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, A/C, power train, etc. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office recommended. * Ability to learn and use computer systems (ET, STW, Parts Integration, SIS Web). * Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others. * Consistent attendance and timeliness. * Ability to work overtime with little or no notice. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). * Associate Degree from an accredited vocational school preferred or comparable work experience required. * Two to three years minimum experience working on heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience required. * Disassemble, assemble, remove and install machine components, and systems experience required. * Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English). PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: * Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting. * Able to lift up to 50 lbs in accordance with Western States' Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach. * Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies. * Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment. * Exposure to high noise level. * Exposure to fumes.
