We're looking for equipment techs in both the Austin and San Antonio area.

As an Equipment Technician, you will:

  • Perform routine equipment service and repair
  • Assist in the installation of various automotive shop equipment.
  • Possess A Team-Player Personality
  • Have a broad knowledge pertaining to automotive or machinery repair and basic mechanical and plumbing experience
  • Perform general mechanical abilities. Light electrical knowledge is a plus!

Requirements

Must:

  • Have the ability to strive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Own basic tools (wrenches, hammers, socket sets, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Be highly motivated to train and learn
  • Pass pre-employment qualifications such as a Criminal Background Screening, Motor Vehicle Record Check, Employment Verification, and Functional Capacity Exam/Drug Screen.

VIEW JOBS 1/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-19T00:00 Performs all functions assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader, including but not limited to, repairs and maintenance to the building, equipment, ammonia refrigeration system and tools, including minor electrical repairs. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for the reliable and safe operation of the facilities equipment including the ammonia refrigeration system, powered industrial trucks and industrial batteries. * Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with the physical building, powered industrial trucks, ammonia refrigeration system, and industrial batteries. * Maintain physical building and it's systems through in house and contracted preventive maintenance, repairs and replacement as needed. * Manage all work as necessary using safety as well as efficiency of other teams as guides in prioritization. * Maintain accurate logs and other record keeping for refrigeration system, facility PM's, battery maintenance, and other regulatory logs. * Maintain fire sprinkler and security systems. * Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. * Maintain work areas in good order. * Comply with all applicable health and safety codes. * Attend all safety, team and facility Meetings. * Lead and support safety changes throughout the facility * Participate in physical inventory as needed. * Perform other duties, as assigned. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: * High school graduate or GED. * Industrial Refrigeration Operator 1 (ammonia) or above preferred. * Minimum 5 years' experience in building and / or equipment maintenance. * Ability to perform physical requirements of position (see below). * Knowledge in electrical and general mechanical systems. * Ability to become PIT Operator Certified. * Ability to work well with others and be a team player. * Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Distribution Center, including working late, nights and weekends as required, and be on call 24 hours a day. * Effective oral and written communication, must read, write and speak English. * Accuracy. * Self-motivated. Working conditions: * Standing and walking for extended periods of time, up to 8-10 hours. * Reaching * Bending, stooping, and climbing. * Heavy lifting. * Work in varying temperatures (freezers, coolers, rooftops, etc., where applicable). * Work in dusty, damp and wet conditions. * Working at heights, including the climbing of ladders, stairs, and working from scissor lifts. * Use of electric pallet jacks, forklifts, or other heavy machinery. * Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment. * Use of ladders. * Repetition of duties.
