Equipment Specialist- Yard/Laborer

Under general supervision, you will ensure that the yard is firing on all cylinders. This may include preventative maintenance on equipment, checking equipment, and helping other Associates as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check, wash, repair, paint and store toilets, containers and other company materials.

  • Use steam cleaner and/or pressure washer for cleaning assets (toilets, sinks, etc.) Keep wash pad area clean and organized.

  • Check and clean water-recycling system daily.

  • Inform Supervisor/Manager of material used throughout the day. Report any problems found on equipment throughout the day to Supervisor.

  • Completely check and repair units before delivery and upon return.

  • Conducts general facility maintenance and minor repairs as needed.

  • Assist with the retrofitting of special or high-end units.

  • Follow United Site Services safety rules: utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to supervisors.

  • Uses forklift for loading and unloading assets (toilets, sinks, etc.)

  • Occasionally operate P&D/Service truck as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.

  • The noise level is usually loud

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination or education and experience.

  • At least 1-year general labor experience and/or training

As the equipment subject matter expert within the claims team, provides consultative support and technical direction to the Claims Service Representatives on losses within oversight inventory. Researches pricing and availability of replacement parts, validates established scope of loss and assess available options to either repair or replace equipment, communicates with repair vendors to facilitate production of reasonable and accurate estimates and leverages data and industry resources, and independent knowledge, discretion and expertise to establish and/or create appropriate ranges for loss estimates. The Equipment Specialist also works with insured and/or repair vender, conduct virtual inspections leveraging video streaming technology to assess damage to insured's property, provides technical training and continuing education to Claims Service Representatives to boost technical knowledge within the team. Qualifications Qualifications - Education: Required: Some level of education or training on HVAC equipment or equivalent work experience. Qualifications - Work Experience: Required: 3+ years' experience working with HVAC equipment including but no limited to boilers, air conditioning, furnaces, and heat pumps. 2+ years of HVAC repair, estimator, installation, maintenance or inspection experience preferred. Qualifications - Technical Skills: Required: Working knowledge of HVAC systems and associated equipment. Ability to work in an office and computer environment with electronic based applications (Claims management system, MS Office, Outlook email, etc.) Qualifications - Non-Technical Skills: Required: Effective communication skills both verbal and written (i.e. written service proposals). Must be a team player and have a passion for collaborating and problem solving. Multi-tasker and highly organized.
