You will serve as an Equipment Specialist (Corrosion) in the Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Services Center (NATEC) of NV AIR TECHNICAL DATA AND ENGRG SVC. Position is responsible for providing field engineering and technical advice, assistance, and instruction to naval commands/units in support of naval aviation weapon systems, equipment, and/or support equipment.

You will provide technical training, briefings and system-specific technical briefings to Navy, Marine Corps, and civilian personnel.
You will provide on-site academic instruction and on-equipment proficiency training.
You will assist, train and demonstrate the best methods of prevention, inspection, treatment and documentation of corrosion.
You will provide advice on the identification of, and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, and test equipment associated with and related to corrosion control.
You will identify and analyze weapon systems/equipment corrosion control deficiencies.
You will perform special project assignments related to assigned specialized information on new systems and equipment.
You will provide technical advice while investigation and analyzing accidents, incidents, and system/equipment failures.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying advanced working knowledge of a wide range of airframe and airframe sub-system operations and maintenance concepts, principles, and practices requiring extended specialized training and experience to plan and conduct work that requires significant judgment in evaluating, selecting, preparing, designing, modifying and adapting to maintenance and/or training procedures or criteria; Providing subject matter expertise and assistance on the inspection, identification, and repair of corrosion not limited to structures, control surfaces, engine controls, landing and arresting gear, fuel systems, fire extinguishing systems, hydraulic systems, and environmental control systems; Analyzing and resolving problems on aviation systems, and make recommendations for corrective actions; Ability to apply ingenuity and technical expertise to handle unique situations and skills in preparation of lesson plans, designing training aids, and conducting technical training.
