Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions

to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is under the supervision of US Army Tank-Automotive &

Armaments Command (TACOM) ILSC CS & CSS Transportation Systems PSID.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead Provisioner for a complex weapon system.

  • Develop contracting scopes of work.

  • Identify, select, provision code, determine initial requirements, and catalogue items to be procured or supported through the product life cycle.

  • Participate in the development of integrated logistics support plans, which address all the principal elements of support for the total systems life cycle.

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 24% of the time for this position.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 Months and may be extended to a maximum of eight years.

  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participating in provisioning, logistics demonstrations, technical manual development, or technical manual verification; reading, interpreting or presenting military maintenance specifications; applying military regulations during the logistics development process; developing, directing, or executing maintenance related scope of work; and responding to field inquiries, organizational taskers, or programs office requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

The Customer Service - Welding Supply - Equipment Specialist is responsible for performing customer service activities in a call center environment with the objective to create a better overall customer experience. Customer Service - Welding Supply - Equipment Specialist receive and handle all incoming customer inquiries; taking complete ownership of issue(s) until the customer's goal and/or need is achieved. Customer Service - Welding Supply - Equipment Specialist * Maintains ongoing relationship with regional customers and sales staff by answering incoming calls, correcting order issues, processing customer orders, and resolving customer product or service issues * Processes sales orders and order changes and confirms shipment/delivery dates and cancellations * Uses business software systems to retrieve customer information, verify inventory levels and process orders * Verifies customer credit status and completes necessary paperwork to issue credits or debits * Provides quotes and assistance to sales force and management within set parameters * Suggests additional and/or alternative products and services to meet customer needs, following established pricing guidelines * Provides customers with informational materials such as sales brochures, marketing flyers, etc * Responsible for phone inquiries for service calls and part orders * Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all internal PDI customers * Performs at a high level to meet call center performance metrics * Other duties as assigned * High School diploma or equivalent required * Associate's Degree preferred * Minimum of 2-4 years of Customer Service or In Store Sales experience required * Industry experience strongly preferred, minimum of 5 years * Internal Praxair system experience preferred * Strong oral communication & computer skills (Word and Excel) * Ability to multi-task in high-paced , call center work environment * Willingness to take ownership of customer inquiries to resolution All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other reason prohibited by applicable law.
