Imperial Dade, a leading North American distributor, has an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Service Manager located in Decatur, IL. This position leads and schedules the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems on commercial floor machines (sweepers, scrubbers, buffers, etc.).

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead and motivate a team of service technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and productivity.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient service delivery and profitability.

  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule for assigned equipment.

  • Utilize electronic systems to complete, track, and file all PM tasks and work orders.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records, including completed work orders and billing submissions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, equipment manufacturers, and parts suppliers.

  • Advocate for customer needs, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Manage inventory levels by coordinating order placement, slotting, and put-away with designated personnel.

  • Secure competitive pricing and availability for parts from vendors.

  • Track and manage warranty claims, collaborating with internal teams on parts return processes.

  • Organize and maintain equipment files and service manuals for efficient reference.

  • Provide copies of requested service manuals to customers.

  • Receive customer service requests via phone, fax, and email, scheduling service calls across all Imperial branches.

  • Actively participate in training and development opportunities to stay current with industry best practices.

  • Willing to perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

You have:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical program certificate.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team towards common goals.

  • Strong understanding of complex instructions and procedures, ensuring accurate execution.

  • Ability to conduct oneself with professionalism, confidentiality, and competence across diverse situations

  • Strong proficiency in utilizing computer software and systems for efficient task completion.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Bilingual fluency is a plus.
