Job Duties:
Performs skilled mechanical diagnosis and repairs in a timely and efficient manner. Train and supervise inmate workers to learn and utilize skilled mechanical methods/techniques in a safe and efficient manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of operations, maintenance, and general repair of transfer highway equipment. Considerable knowledge of commercial vehicle equipment.
Ability to instruct others in the use of & maintenance of equipment. Successful completion of prescribed physical examination by a qualified physician. Completion of high school or equivalent.
Possession of valid state motor vehicle operator's license. Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 1 year of hire. Knowledge of highway and equipment operation safety rules.
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of inmate supervision practices. Certified and Licensed Safety Inspector.
