Equipment Operator- Night Shift

We are looking for Equipment Operators to join our Orchard Brands team. This role will be based out of our Eatonton office which operates in a hybrid work setting.

As an equipment Operator you are responsible for operating the special-order picker, pallet jack and the cardboard handler. You will be performing several routine tasks that require you to fulfill customer orders by either stocking or pulling from tiers reaching as high as 25 feet throughout specific sections of the warehouse. You are also responsible for stacking pallets and placing them in the appropriate areas and collecting excess cardboards throughout the warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating electric powered trucks with elevated platforms.

• Performs routine safety checks to ensure equipment is ready for use for each time of operation.

• Utilizing a computer scanning device to properly maintain daily tasks related to production and order picking assignments.

• Transporting cardboard bins to baler and emptying the bins into the baler conveyor.

• Complete daily essential documentation required for the operation of each electric truck, sorting the documentation accordingly.

• Job duties are subject for revision and include other duties assigned.

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  
  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

• Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

• Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and will be required to change batteries safely utilizing PPE. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat (non-weather). And risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee should also be aware of climate control in a warehouse setting. Temperatures fluctuate, therefore appropriate attire for these conditions is advised.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth Perception and Ability to adjust focus.
